Paintings by Cuban contemporary artists adorn this restaurant which is located on the ground floor of Conde de Villanueva Hotel and was designed for cigar lovers. With such a colonial atmosphere as the building itself, its interior design shows architectural vestiges of nearly three hundred years of history. The restaurant specializes in Cuban and international cuisine and local recipes include a variety of delicious traditional dishes which date back to the 19th century, such as the Fish fillet cooked in a colonial-type mill, garnished with sugar cane and seasoned with ginger sauce.
This building was once the house of Claudio Martínez de Pinillos, a 19th-century celebrity who played an important role in the Island's economic, scientific and literary growth of the time. The lovely smell of their cooking blended with the distinctive aroma of Cuban cigars leave a particular scent captivating those who walk along one of the main streets in the old part of town, just moments away from the Old Square.
