This is one of the places that attract passers-by on Obispo Street who stop on the corner with Havana Street. Its ambience takes us back to the past, but touched by the present-day rhythm of the busy artery. The Cuban music played here is also an attraction for those who decide to take a break and try what this cafeteria offers. In the year 1900 there was a café here which had different names in the course of time. It was known as Velazco Café in 1927, as Excelsior Café in 1932 and finally as The Golden Rain in 1933. Later on, the local had several uses until 1994 when it recovered the former splendour thanks to the restoration project carried out by the City Historian’s Office.
